2009

This Summer has seen our first events featuring the 1959 Morris JB Type, after Damian painstakingly restored it to its former glory following the sale of the Bedford CA van. We were busy most weekends at weddings as far afield as Hampton Court and Gloucestershire, at Car Rallys, School fetes (including St George's school, Harpenden), 40th Birthday parties and even an event for Watford Football Club.

For the second successive year we hired out our Bedford CA to Marks & Spencer for use for promotional purposes, for 6 weeks. Otherwise we had a busy Summer with events at locations ranging from Rugby Matches (Old Albanians Vs Western Force) to University College London.

2007
In 2007, one of the highlights of our season was doing a job for Harrods, to launch their Christmas range of goods…In August. Santa got involved in what turned out to be a stunning photo shoot and handed out ice creams to kids at 7 o'clock in the morning!

It also marked the first year of us hiring our Bedford CA van to Marks & Spencer, who used a vynil wrap to emblazen the band with their logo for promotional purposes. The van toured the country for 2 months as we carried on using the Morris J Type for weddings and other functions.

2006
During our first full Summer back in business we were amazed at the different nature of enquiries we received, leading to us working for the BBC as well as corporate companies including T-Mobile and the National Grid(!) at a variety of different locations. Aside from these events we managed to squeeze in several weddings too, a few school fetes, a rugby tournament and two events organised by the local Hospice. All in all, with restoration work as well, it was a busy year.

Past Events
BBC Filming Work at Tower Bridge!
In February 2006 our J-type Morris van was used for filming purposes for a detective show called ?New Tricks? starring none other than Dennis Waterman, Amanda Redman and James Bolan among others:

The episode in question was about ice cream wars(!) and was aired in June 2006, our pride and joy making its National Television debut. For the purposes of the show our logo was changed to ?Genaro?s Ice Cream? and we handed out ice creams to the hungry crew, despite the freezing temperatures?

Tominey's City Ices made their wedding debut in Harpenden, Hertfordshire on August 27th 2005. After the reception a veil was pulled back to reveal the stunning Morris J-Type in all its renovated beauty, next to the dance floor.
